Just curious about L&D nurse getting speciality pay. Do you and what states/areas are you getting it in? We had the discussion about it at work one day and wonder if most L&D nurses get it or not.
We do not get specialty pay where I work. I work in a union hospital and your pay is bases on your number of years as an RN. We also have clinical ladders where you can increase your pay according to your certifications and education. This can add up to $3.00 an hour to your pay. This ladder is available to all nurses, though, not just OB. I think it is extremely fair.

I received $1 hr. specialty pay at my old job in the U.S. I do not receive it now, but do get "post allowance" it helps offset the euro exchange rate.
