I've been active on a different thread for people who applied to St. Petersburg College's Nursing program starting in August 2018. I made it on the alternate list (still completing Microbiology-finals tomorrow!), but have decided, with the help of an HEC advisor, not to accept if I get offered a last minute seat based on the fact that my only options for clinicals will be whatever no one else wanted. She said I'll definitely be accepted for January and will have top choice of clinicals/instructors, so I'm happy waiting another four months to start. Who else is applying for the Spring 2019 program?
So, due to my other job currently I will be unable to attend the study tips/guide seminar on Dec 10th in person. I was wondering if there is any possible way someone could record the session so that I could somehow be able to attain the information. I really wanted to attend this as I think they will be providing very valuable information. It would mean the world to me if this I somehow possible. Thank you guys in afacance if anyone can figure how to make this possible.
I wouldn't worry about it, it's basically worthless. They used to do a nursing math workshop that was really good, but I don't think they do it anymore.
Hi everyone! I just finished level 1 and I wanted to come on here and give you guys some advice I wish I had going into level 1. The most important thing I can tell you is that all of the exam content comes straight from the Fundamentals book! If it's not in the book, they won't test on it, so don't worry about extra content that doesn't come from that book. The PowerPoints are a helpful guideline, but you must read the chapters in the book at least once, but preferably more. They will take one random sentence in the middle of a big paragraph and ask a question on that and you don't want to miss it. Pay special attention to the boxes and tables in the chapters because there are always questions that come from those. Also make sure to study the drug capsules that are in the assigned chapters. In pre-reqs we're used to straight forward questions, but nursing school likes to make them situational-based so you will have to use some critical thinking. On theory exams 3 and 4 you will have 5 med math questions, and 20 on the final. I was thoroughly confused on the first day med math was taught, if that happens to you, go to NIP and they will help you learn how to set your equations up. Once you figure that out, the rest is easy and it's the same type of questions with different numbers. Nursing school is hard and there will be a time where it's so overwhelming you feel like you don't even have time to breath. Just remember to use your resources, ask questions, and remember the end goal of getting that RN license! Good luck and feel free to ask me any questions you have, I'm more than happy to help!!
