SPC Spring 2018

Published

Hello everyone,

I haven't seen a Spring 2018 thread started for SPC nursing hopefuls so I decided to start one. I am very eager and anxious and I know a lot of you are too. So who else is applying for the Nursing program at St. Pete College for the spring?

A little bit about me. I have a BS in Psych and returning for nursing. I have all my prereqs completed and have a 3.66 GPA.. I have A's in all my sciences except Mirco Lab I have a B. I am super nervous about my GPA knowing that many others have better GPAs. I am holding out hope that other people will apply to other programs. Also historically the Spring is less competitive. I am hoping to get in for the night classes. The application opens on July 1st so we can apply in 3 days!!! Then wait for what will feel like forever. The suspense is already killing me.

Where are the rest of the SPC Nursing hopefuls? Sound off... 3..2..1.. GO!

Class is defiantly hard work, but the instructor was amazing!

Thank you for the info. í ½í¸‰

I would agree with Nursinggirl...there is a ton of work in Lab, much more than I expected. As long as you study the material the instructor tells you to there is no reason you can't be successful and receive an A. Goodluck Man!!

Thank you! I'm sure I'll have no problem considering I know how to follow directions. í ½í¸‰

Did you take the the majority of your courses at Gibbs or another campus?

No.... I took both A&P's at the Downtown campus and Microbiology at Gibbs. My other classes were a mix of Clearwater, Gibbs, and online. I was all over the place.

Ah okay, was just curious.

Hello everyone! I am currently waiting for the approval of my AA transcript to be accepted and I will also be applying within the next few days for spring. I currently have a 3.69 with all classes completed as well as a county resident! I'm wishing for the best! Just very nervous í ½í¸«

Hello everyone, I also finished Menards micro lab and lecture over the summer. I really hope we get into the program. I'm nervous because I'm right at the average 3.5... they say gpa accepted for spring range from 3.5 -3.7

It all depends on how many people applying have high GPA's. You just never know what the GPA's are of people applying. Is that 3.5 the nursing pre-req GPA or your overall GPA?

Fall had a range of 3.76-4.0. Some people got in as alternates with a 3.7, but I wouldn't count on getting in as an alternate because it depends on a first round pick dropping out. 30 seats are reserved for the Earn As You Learn Program.

I had a friend get accepted this fall as an alternate and his GPA was 3.63. For those of us riding on the 3.6 line it's going to be close. However hearing he got in made me super hopeful. Only 76 more days and we'll know.

Program GPA or overall of 3.63?
