SPC Nursing Program Spring 2014

U.S.A. Florida

Hi everyone,

I just found out that I have been accepted into Saint Petersburg College's Nursing program for this January of 2014! I am super excited and really want to talk to someone who has or is going through the same process.

I can't wait until I get accepted. I still have one more semester left of classes to do though. I am taking my ethics class during the summer, and then take Stats and Micro in the Fall. Then all of my prereqs will finally be done. What is the average GPA to get in right now? I have a 3.8. I am hoping this is enough to get me in.

From what I heard you do have to live in county, because they have such a high competitive rate. There are so many people trying to get into the program, and not enough spots. What I was told when I asked for a friend who didn't live in the county, was that they had to wait until everyone who was a pinellas county resident got in, and then if there was any spots left they'd get in. My friend decided to go to PCC instead because of this.

Hi everyone I just finished level 1. I live in St pete. My gpa was a 3.6 I heard it needed to be higher but I also heard it was easier to get into spring then fall. Also know that of you sign up for day classes you do not go to school over summer however night classes do. I'm in day classes and didn't know that when I signed up.

Hey everyone. I begin level 3 in august. I started out as a night student but due to some family/ work issues I had to take the summer off which meant switching to days. You will finish much faster going nights; but from what I have heard day teachers seem to give more information and prep better for tests. My GPA was a 3.7 but there were people in my class who got in with a 3.2 and 3.4. So, it just depends on what the average GPA applying at the same time you are is. Fundamentals book is super important and the NANDA book. to anyone who bought the package; best decision I ever made. The online books make searching for quiz answers super easy and give you an upper hand if you get your NANDA book online. over half my class borrowed my user name and password, because they wished they had bought the books online. Advice? Make 1 really good study partner!!! Do NOT procrastinate, and if you have questions.... ASK! especially when it comes to writing your papers. If you are in the night program; enjoy every minute of Clem and Morris, teachers are vastly different in each level! Good Luck everyone!!!!! I hope this helps!
