Does anyone have any Nursing I books they would like to sell? Also, there is a list of 14, would any past students say there were any not needed? Thanks.

That book list is pretty crazy huh? I go to orientation on the 10th and am going to ak that same question you are. Someone told me if you got like EVERYTHING on that list, it would cost around $1400!!!! CRAZY!!!!!!! But I cannot WAIT to start! I want to meet some great people and form a solid study group like ASAP! LoL...
I have orientation tomorrow also, is your orientation at SPC also? or do you have a separate one through EAYL? I looked them all up on amazon and you can get the whole thing for around $450, but thats not including the "recommended" material which I doubt I will get.
I have the SPC orientation tomorrow afternoon. I have had a LOT of orientations so far! I got in with the EAYL program so I had one with them and a 2 day 9 hr a day orientation with Baycare...OMG... Thats good to hear about the book thing being nice and cheap...(er)...
WOW...that is a serious orientation. This will be my first tomorrow..hope it isn't too long. I couldn't attend any of the other ones, but he said this was mandatory.
So, the EAYL do you take classes with everyone else through SPC?
I will be taking th same classes just like everyone else will...same everything :) Just found out that I will not be in the summer session @ SPC. It would be nice to get out 1 semester earlier, but I hear summer is pretty tough though. Oh well. Good luck to you and maybe we will run into eachother w/o knowing. :)

Morgan0429...I'm applying for fall 2010 and am wondering if you can still do EAYL over the summer if you're not taking classes over the summer? Does that make sense?
haimyem...yes you can. The way the whole work thing happens is you can start working at a hospital right away if you have your CNA at the start of school/the program. But if you do not have a certification/experience in anything then you cannot work until after your first semester of classes until you have he basics down. THEY pick who has school in summer based on if you have prior medical/work experience. They figure you can handle school in summer a little better AND work if you have te experience. Make any sense???
That does make sense...I do have some laboratory experience from years ago, but do not currently work as I have 4 little ones at home. I am really hoping that I get accepted into SPC, as well as the EAYL program. I currently have a 3.5 GPA, a 4.0 in all sciences, with just Statistics left to take this spring. I know it's very competitive for both the nursing program and the EAYL program...please let me know how you like both programs when they get underway.
Morgan...I'm not sure if I'm being retarted or what. Does it seem like on the second sheet (the one sheet of paper) that there are a lot more books listed than on the eBook sheet? Or did they mean that we need to choose one option on the 2 page handout (ebook only or ebook and print) AND get the rest of the books on the one sheet of paper. (The Kozier/Deglin books)? Does any of this make sense?
From what I understood....lol...the 1 sheet list is the list of EVERYTHING you need/recommended stuff too. The 2 sheeter (that spelling looks funny :) You need to choose only ONE of the options. The top is where you get the ebooks PLUS text and the bottom is ONLY ebooks (so you will not have to carry any books around). But if you look at the 1 sheet list...there is a break in the required list (where it skips a line or two is blank ) then it gives you more required books listed. The top little cluster are the texts that are available by eBook if you want them..then the bottom is only available in text. This is that I was explained at the bookstore last night. 2 things to know when you go buy.... 1) You cannot use someone else's credit card to buy the books. That person MUST be there to sign. I am using my husband's CC b/c I am broke (lol) and they rang up everything and then found out I need to come back with him. 2) There are 3 books they do not have in right now...they are the books (I think they are called ABA or something..the ones that do not have a IBSN #). They said to check back in next week and they should have them then. Hope this helps !!! :)
Thanks, that makes sense. So we need two sets of books. The eBooks (or print/ebook) and the bottom half of the required books list. I think I'm going to do the eBooks...I hate reading things online, but to not have to lug around all those extra books seems like a bonus. Thanks for the bookstore info.
