SPC Fall 2016

Published

Hello! I have not seen any posts for the Fall 2016 at St. Pete College yet!

Probably because it is too early.

Anyone else applying?

Stats?

I have a 3.5 Prereq GPA, and 3.7 Cumulative GPA.

I agree about buying the book package from the school. It's way cheaper than buying them separately and while you don't touch some of them in level one, others that come in it are pretty essential for level 2.

Yes they are still using castle branch! But I also don't see a form to bring to them, I printed off a registration form but that only told me how to make an app

After you make the appointment a registration form is either emailed to you or comes up on castle branch. You print that form off and bring it to your appointment.

Hey there. I was 18 on the waiting list. Has anyone on the waiting list made it in?

My friends did..3 and 7 on the list..not sure about anything after that. You should've received notice by now??

hello, does anyone know the clinical sites for the night classes?

I think it's SPG, Bay Pines, Health South,...there are only 3 classes for nights that I am aware of.

thank you for your help =)

Could anyone quickly tell me the clinical sites for both days and nights? I read that you rank them from your first choice and so on. I really want days and I'm not familiar with hospitals in this area at all!

What would you recommend for days? I live only 9 minutes away from the spc health center

Hi,

Current nursing student here. The first semester books are so expensive but they include a good majority for future semesters (any specialty like ob, psych, or peds will be bought separately for that semester). The main book used in level one is your fundamentals book along with maybe your therapeutic communication, care plan, and a very small amount from your med/surg book. Med/Surg book is mainly used after level one.

As for uniforms they are all navy blue scrubs. Much better than our previous uniforms.

Hope that helps :)

Hi I'm curious about something! My clinical site is Bon Secour (I was an alternate so I got what was left over) which is a nursing home. Am I there the entire two years? I thought we would rotate to different areas in the hospital such as ER, OR, ICU etc etc but if I'm just in a nursing home I won't be able to do that?
