SPC Fall 2016

Published

Hello! I have not seen any posts for the Fall 2016 at St. Pete College yet!

Probably because it is too early.

Anyone else applying?

Stats?

I have a 3.5 Prereq GPA, and 3.7 Cumulative GPA.

Does anyone know what we study in each semester? Like is nursing 1 fundamentals, nursing 2 med sug, nursing 3 peds/OB, and nursing 4 psych/mental health, etc?

Monday through Thursday. And Level one is just fundamentals. Level 2 focuses on Med/Surg and OBand then pharm. Level 3 is Advanced Med/Surg and Peds. Level 4 is critical care, Roles of nursing (which are the first 10 weeks)and Management (following a nurse preceptor to see what the floor is actually like and the last 6 weeks of school)

So there's not a semester where psych is done? Is it kinda spread throughout?

Hmm I'm debating because I got into FSW and SPC.. But FSW is 3 days a week. I don't know which to decide. They both have pros and cons .. Sorry just thinking out loud

Oops sorry. Knew I forgot something. Psych is in level 3. Psych and pharm are there own independent classes. But pharm is with level 2 and psych is with level 3.

Does anyone know what color shoes we need to get?

Shoes need to be white I was told. And the skills kit bag doesn't include your stethoscope, BP cuff, pen light or anything like that.

Hey guys! Did you attend the info session?

Well the orientation

Hey guys! Did you attend the info session?

Yeah, wellsrc7 and I were there. We're both in the evening program. I'm going to be at St Pete General for clinicals.

I gotta go meet with financial aid this week to decide how much in loans to take out for this year. I can't believe that tuition is due this Friday the 15th! Seems really early to me!

I am doing clinical at Bay pines..i bought all the books yesterday. I was wrong about the shoes, they can be white, blue or black ..but one solid color. Looks like if anyone is doing the evening program we have lecture/theory class together and there are 3 diff prof that take turn teaching their specialty ..then on clinical days we go to our chosen site. Orientation was just an overview of who was who and a tour, plus choosing your site.

Soooooo I think I just got in.. Orientation is July 26!
