Southwestern College ADN Fall 2019

Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

U mean 74-76 points right? Lol.

I need to just relax.... I literally think I finally started annoying a professor there that I absolutely love. I asked her a few questions about the process and about being an alternate.... Hopefully I didn't ruin my chances. ?

I hate how this current situation I'm in caused me to lose my cool. ??

Yeah points, sorry to worry you! ? i wouldve done the same, but I don’t know any of the professors ? I totally understand though because the past few days i’ve been losing it. Just keep your head up and try to stay positive. You got this!! I’m rooting for you!!! ??

Is it one of the nursing professors?

She is one of the nursing faculty, but not one of the RN professors.

She's awesome, and it's no big deal. She is always available and wants to be there for her students. I only asked her a couple questions. But I think she could sense me being really stressed ... Which isn't good. But I'm sure she understands. I just don't like feeling on edge and needy .. and that's how I feel right now. ???? ? lol

Oh ok. You should gather, scan, and highlight all your documents for complio so they are ready to go if you get accepted. If you dont hear back before July you should start a grossmont application for spring.

I think I had 79 or 80 points ? now I really hope I get a call if the points are lower than what I had.

Stay positive! I'm sure you are good. I am sure there are still multiple people that are not going to enroll. Or so I hope. A lot of people may have gone to the orientation, but may not follow through on all the complio stuff. Not everyone informs the school that they have decided on going elsewhere. That is what I am hoping atleast.... Grossmont just had their orientation. And not sure when palomar's is or was.

Speaking of grossmont, didn't you get accepted there? If so, did you know of anyone that went to southwestern's orientation as well as grossmonts?

Idk if you are talking to me about grossmont. But no I didnt get in. I didnt do the cna experience for the extra 5 points because I was being lazy. Lol and I wanted to go southwestern so I didnt put much effort into competing for points at grossmont. I had 81-83 points there and their cut off was 86. But I did see a girl at southwestern orientation that was in my cna class back in October. She told me she applied to grossmont before and got denied. She lives very close to grossmont so that's her first choice. She needed cna for extra points, so I'm guessing she got into grossmont this time around possibly. So she might have attended both orientations. She could be an alternate to either one tho or accepted already. I have no clue.

No silly... Not you! There was an alternate that was accepted into grossmont, but an alternate for southwestern.

Ooooh. Lol I think that was @Nurseguy123. I think that's his username. He said he wanted evenings so he is waiting to see but I think they wont tell us that until right before registration.
