Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

They may still be sending out acceptances. I applied to Grossmont, Southwestern, and Palomar. I luckily was accepted to Grossmont’s program. When I submitted my Southwestern application, I was missing my form for my Flu shot. So my app was incomplete. I was convinced they threw out my application, but they gave me a call last week asking for me to bring the form. I said no thank you, I was accepted into another program. And then we hung up! That was that! I can’t say I was going to be offered a seat at Southwestern, but I definitely didn’t take a seat in the cohort either. I hope that helps
stay positive you guys! I know it’s very very hard to deal with all this uncertainty and waiting. If you never hear back, prepare yourself to make sure you make your application the best it can be. Go and volunteer at nursing homes. Brighton Place on Euclid would loveeeeee volunteers and you can go as much as you want. Apply to as many schools as possible. Get your CNA. See how many of those extra points you can score! Dig deep y’all! You got this!!! I hope to see all of you on the floor at the hospital some day! Keep striving for this!!!
Congrats to you!
What you just said confirmed my worst fear.... That they contacted multiple people for forms, and they said no thanks. I wonder how many times this happened (like how many students). That could be what took so long in the first place. I am so nervous.
Current students you should ask!!! Lol

Do you know of anyone who got into swc and declined because they are going elsewhere?

They only called people that were missing something. I never got a call. So there could be plenty of people that did not receive a call and declined the offer once emailed.

I know and am well aware I will be waiting all summer. To be honest I am okay with the wait... But I don't want to think I have a somewhat good chance if I dont. But i guess I just have to wait out this torture
I will stay positive the best I can. Sorry to be a basket case, but being in limbo is causing a ton of anxiety to say the least.

I could imagine. I know it sucks. I hope you hear something soon.

This is what it says:

o Time: 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
o Location: Higher Education Center, Otay Mesa
o Room: 4500
During orientation, you will receive a lot of important information with regard to program expectations, background check, drug screening, required fees and several other matters that the hospitals and Nursing
office requires. Failure to attend this required orientation may result in your space being forfeited to another qualified applicant.

immediately via email: [email protected] so that your space may be given to another qualified applicant.
Important! Your application will remain as part of your permanent college record and remain in your student file, if accepted. Otherwise, it will be shredded accordingly.
