Hi everyone! I’m starting this thread so we can share our application criteria points with each other! I just turned in my application today. I have between 85 and 88 points. I have 3 B’s on my science prerequisites :((, 4.0 gpa for all the general Ed courses. I have fluency in Spanish, an associates degree, CNA, and volunteer experience. I scored an 88 on my TEAS! I hope they can look past my grades in my prerequisite courses and I get in!!! I hope we all get into this cohort! Good luck everyone

For us, during orientation everyone filled out a paper and day or weekend evening (w/e) preference was asked. In my cohort there were not enough people that wanted w/e and a couple that wanted days were put in w/e.

I’m curious as well. I got accepted to Grossmont and got Alternate for SWC. Getting into the evening classes would greatly help my decision on where to go. I’m hoping I have a better idea after the orientation days at the end of May.

What are your points for both? Weird you got accepted to grossmont but only an alternate to southwestern

Yea I was perplexed as well (probably just my ego taking a hit haha). Grossmont 83-84

SWC was hard to peg down but the counselor and I determined 80-82.

I was was told by SWC my RWS200 (B+) class from SDSU wouldn’t be accepted because I took RWS100 (C+). I thought that was pretty dumb because both classes were required at SDSU and the multi point criteria said we could use either class. Grossmont took the Higher grade.

Finally, I took Communication during inter session 2019 (A+) from a (C+) I had when I took communication back in 2005. Grossmont took my new grade and SWC did not.

Aahhh gotcha, yea I was sad when southwestern wanted to take the lowest English I had as well but my higher English I got an A and my lower English I got a B. So I didnt get the 4.0 in that section. Yea, grossmont actually gives more opportunity for points. I had around 81 or 82 points with grossmont but I was lazy and did not do cna experience so I didn't receive the extra 5 points. But I'm glad I didnt get into grossmont because of such a long wait I would have just went with grossmont. I wanted to go to southwestern because its close to where I live and they have a bridge program with SDSU.

Grossmonts orientation has already passed? Or is it in may as well?

I have swc orientation 5-29-19 and grossmont on 5-31-19

So how do they determine who would be forced to go to weekends? Just bad luck?

Oh wow. I thought for sure grossmont would be done with orientation by how early they announced their acceptances.

Hi Everyone,I got an idea from Grossmont and I created a group for our class on Facebook where we can stay in touch as well in an easier way instead of here.

It is called : SWC ADN class of 2021
