Hi everyone! I thought I'd start a whole new topic for those who applied to Southwestern's Fall 2017 cohort. This is the first time I've applied for a nursing program, so I am very excited and nervous of whats to come. I'm curious to see the amount of points you have totaled so I know what I'm up against. I totaled my points to be 74/75, so that may be low compared to some of you. I wish everyone luck and I hope to see you in August!
thatperson- If given the chance, I'd go straight for the BSN. the VA has a valor program where you are paid 50% or more of an RN pay while in school. I'd look into it, they have a partnership with SDSU
I don't think you're paid 50% more of an RN pay. On their site they state you're paid $22.85 for the 10-week summer program with 40 hours a week. It's also one day per month once school starts. The deadline for applications to the VALOR program ended February 24th.

The user jga0730 Stated 50% of what a RN makes or more. 22 an hour would be 50% of what an RN makes my sister makes 44$ per hour.
