I am a student in the BSN program and South University Tampa and love it! I am writing this because when I looked for information on the school before I went I could barely find any information. The school is very expensive however the teachers are great, and the program is very organized. The actual nursing program is 21 months long not including pre reqs. The selection process includes more than just GPA. I just wanted to put out some information for anyone interested.
Did you take your prereqs prior to attending South University? Also, do you know which hospitals they are affiliated with for clinicals?
I am only in the second quarter and have heard it's only gets harder. The majority of the students do not work, I work 12 hour shifts Saturday and Sunday and it is manageable. There is one student who works full time so it can be done. The first quarter was much easier. The group I am in is awesome we all try to help each other, which helps a lot. Did you apply for the April class?
Thanks, yea I heard one other girl say that there is one week break in between each quarter until like Thanksgiving and/Christmas were we get more time off/break…Like around 2 weeks for Turkey Day and Xmas around a 1 month… Def gonna go check out the front to see if I can get one of those calendars…ready for them to post our schedules…. Do you know when they post them? Do we have choice of our classes or do they put us in the classes/times they want us in?
Oh and one other question…DO you or someone you know have any books that your selling for the first quarter? Any tips on what books to buy or if getting used or new is the best way to go? Thanks.
Would love for more South U students to get on these forums to start more discussions. I think we could all benefit if we all shared info about the program.. From the oldies to the new bees.. all info would be helpful ...
