Need CRNA shadowing experience in FL
I am also looking for a job shadow with a CRNA in the same area. I contacted TGH and they said that they dont think Team Health allows their CRNA's to be shadowed.? The Dept education lady there told me that an anesthesiologist shadow may be possible...but IMO thats not what we need? Not sure. I am going to continue to search.

SO far my experience has been pretty good. No real issues, it is an expensive school but other than that I haven't really had any negative issues thus far…the nursing program is 7 quarters long and each quarter is 11 weeks. SO you can finish your bsn nursing degree in 21 months is what I was told. I start in less than 2 weeks so I will keep everyone posted (time permitting) as I go.

I took my pre-req's at a community college in Texas, as that is where I am from, moved to Tampa about 7 months ago. I took one quarter of classes (1 semester) of pre-req's that I needed at SU and then applied to the program.

Good to know, thank you, you have been a ton of help…I was online buying books, some of them I was able to get used. What is your take on the app called Nursing Central ? Its a software product they are asking us to purchase. I don't know if you all had to get this or not? This app has access to several resources like Daviss' Drug Guide and Taber's Comprehensive Handbook and a few other etc….. It costs about $150. Did all or any of the student in your class purchase this? Is it a necessary purchase? I would think other free apps would suffice… Let me know you take on this.

Hey had a another question for you, as far as nursing shoes go, I know they want us to get "all white" but are they picky about the shoes having any colors on them?......colors like gray or light blue? Like a colored nike check or maybe a gray or light colored sole? Thanks in advance!

What stethoscope did you get? I was trying to decide on a color and type…I'd like something that matches at least a little with our ugly orange tops …LOL… but was wondering what others are getting? I know color does really matter, but I was just curious….still deciding. I didn't wanna get there and everyone in our class has the exact same colors.. haha

On out student portal or do we need to go to the school to get our schedule etc?

Ah yes, ok that makes sense, would you mind sharing the names of the books that you had for your first quarter and who the authors were if you have time? Intro to profession of nursing, principles of assessment and ...including the pharmacology...I would love to get a jump start.

Oh and one other question…DO you or someone you know have any books that your selling for the first quarter? Any tips on what books to buy or if getting used or new is the best way to go? Thanks. Would love for more South U students to get on these forums to start more discussions. I think we could all benefit if we all shared info about the program.. From the oldies to the new bees.. all info would be helpful ...

Do you know when they post them? Do we have choice of our classes or do they put us in the classes/times they want us in?
