If I remember correctly, their NP program was only available on campus not too long ago. How long has the online NP been established? Has anyone here on allnurses.com attended and graduated from the online program? If so, how was your overall experience?
Here's the link to the program webpage:

Would live to hear all of you guys thoughts! I searched allnurses for more info but it yielded no profitable results. Thanks!

I am started the online FNP program at South University on January 10th. The online FNP program was established in February of 2012 if I am not mistaken.
Thanks so much. I thought it was a newer program. How is it for you thus far? I talked with a rep today.

I would love some input on this program also. I have applied to the Adult NP program there. Thanks
My enrollment advisor was great. The hardest part of the application process was finding all my preceptors before acceptance into the program. I actually start my first class this Thursday. Please feel free to email me for more feedback at [email protected]

Just to let you know i had a horribke exoerience with them. Was told all my classes would transfer and none of them did. I wasted 10k and have nothing to show for it. This was for ore reqs for my ADN which im still working on. I was just floored at the blatent dishonesty from the recruiter.
The rep told me that both NP options, online, only allow students to do primary care office rotations. No urgent care or fast-track clinical placements.

I was contacted by a recruiter in reference to Southern University's on-line program. She told me that only 2 of my graduate courses from UAB would transfer. I stopped the conversation at that point. I refuse to spend additional time and money taking courses that I've already successfully passed at a reputable university. I'm glad she was honest with me because the opportunity to complete FNP vs my current ANP was initially very tempting.
I understand you're decision. Money and time is too valuable to waste in repeating numerous courses you've already successfully passed.

I will be starting the FNP program this coming March. I had a little problem with my transcripts...graduated 12/15 and they weren't posted until after Christmas. I like that I can do all my clinicals in my own "back yard" and not have to physically go to the school. The closest university offering a NP program is 1 1/2 hours away.
How's it going? Do you like the program thus far?
So far so good. In pathophysiology now and enjoying doing a deeper look into systems. If you have any questions, please IM me.
