hi,
i just started working a community hospital in NY. I am a new nurse to the acute care setting, and have been thinking about getting insurance for myself. Every time i go to do it i wonder should i first join a nursing association. I am from ny and would consider either nyna or national nurse association. what are your reason for joining, benefits? thanks for any info=)

I belong to the National Association of School Nurses (NASN). My main reason for joining was the information I receive about my practice. It keeps me updated on current info I need. I receive emails, a journal and education opportunities. NASN is also a political organization and I wish that was not the case because they do not always speak for me.

I joined AMSN for med/surg nurses. Keeps me up to date with mags, conferences, emails, etc. Also political, but I feel they do a good job of representing the outcasts of med/surg
