Glad to see there is a Holistic Nursing Division here. I was a member when holistic nursing became a legitimate subspecialty! Good times!
I was just approved to be a local Chapter leader in my area for the AHNA. So excited!
Who all is a member of AHNA? And what is an area of Holistic Nursing that you love?

I am a member of AHNA. I am currently a BSN student working full time in Home Care for adult disabled clients. I am interested in obtaining my Holistic Certification but I'm unsure if working in home care qualifies even though I practice as much holistic practices in combination with their medical plans of care to improve their quality of life.

Hello JoyceHarrellRN. I too am a member of AHNA and am fairly new to AllNurses. My specialty is holistic stress management and nutrition. I started a practice in 2013 to coach nurses who are struggling with stress and energy. I have my first session next month to speak with nursing students about holistic stress management. That is great that you are going to be a chapter leader for AHNA! Way to go. I just love that we have a resource like AHNA. My nursing career may have been totally different if I had discovered it earlier in my practice, but I am just grateful that I did discover it. Cheers :)
The AHNA has a great book, and a CEU program you can go through. Then you can take their certification exam when you are ready.
@gulfgirl72,
I totally agree with you in all your comments! With it was available years ago. But then, I wouldn't have gone down the path I did, and so for that, I'm grateful for all my experiences, burnout, healing, etc.
