So confused with studying materials!

Hello nursing world! This is my very first post, and I'm excited to get ANY responses. I am an LPN student who will be complete with school August 26! I am so excited, and also very scared. I went out today to purchase a NCLEX review book, and I am wondering have any body had good results from the-Prentice Hall Nursing Comprehensive review book? Its a large book, and seems to be very detailed, but I hear a lot of people talking about other books. Your opinion is greatly appreciated! Thanks!:)

I would suggest ATI website. That's how I passed my exit exam on June 9 and passed my NCLEX on June 30. Good luck!

Kaplan is also great and they guarantee success on the NCLEX...completed school march 2011- passed boards april 2011! Congratulations and Good Luck!:yeah:

Make some photocopies of the test in the back of the book. (and any other prep book you get). Take the test with no peeking, just sit and take the test. Correct it, and the ones you got incorrect, you know that those are the areas you need to study up on. If you take 3-4 different tests, you may see a pattern of questions in a couple of different subjects. It is bit overwhelming to try and study the whole book. If you are finding it is not the subject matter but the style of questions (ie: the question is what it is, don't read into it, don't try and elaborate) then one of the test prep courses is a good idea, as they teach you HOW to take the test. Best wishes to you!!

Thanks so much for the response guys, I really appreciate it! I just took one of the practice HESI Exams today in school, and I did pretty well on those. I had some time to look through the book that I purchased, and so far so good! Even though, ITS HUGE....I'm going to try to take my time and read it all. I think if I pace myself, I can get it all in before the BIG NCLEX DAY!! Will Keep you guys posted!
