  1. During clinical rotation, as a nursing student, a patient wrote me a poem after taking care of him-- but then I found out that he had also wrote 2 other nurses poems lol :)
  2. That NCLEX sure seemed "real" to me!
  3. that message is for romie! in case clarification is needed.... again "ewww"
  4. That was the most ill put way to get your point across-- you've mentioned the masters did not go over our heads no need to put down the diploma nurse :) lol geesh!!! That statement just made me say "eww"
  5. Kaplan is also great and they guarantee success on the NCLEX...completed school march 2011- passed boards april 2011! Congratulations and Good Luck!
  6. I agree with MBrn Kaplan materials are great...I took the NCLEX-PN back in April and I passed! I stopped @85 questions! When you purchase the book it guarantees success in the beginning of the book..they also offer review questions in the back of the book for review purposes. Good Luck and Congratulations! :w00t:
  7. taping babies mouths shut!!!!!!! are you joking...if this really occurred they should be facing criminal charges for abuse!!! What the f***!!!:madface::madface::madface::madface::madface::madface::madface:
  8. Long sleeves and Lab coats! hopefully they have AC in the hospital..
  9. Thanks for all of the feedback! Looks like night shift is winning this race!:yelclap:
  10. you could get your LPN diploma which may allow you to get your foot in the door at these facilities...i know that mental health facilities hire alot of LPN's at least they do in VA....There is usually no wait period for the program and it is a shorter program, my LPN program was 15 months.
  11. Hi, just a little curious on which shift is most desired.. Night shift or Day shift? And Why?
  12. BOTH...I can only imagine what that would sound like verbally...Not good OMG! Hopefully she is an international student who has not mastered english grammar or spelling...or maybe she was just being verrrry informal, or in a hurry..in one of the other post someone mentioned that you request she rewrite the request using a more formal approach...also inquire about having the proper credentials to be accepted into the program to begin with..
  13. It sounds like your heart was in the right place...:redpinkhe you were trying to advocate for the new nurse and ensure patient safety...
  14. as long as it does not interefere with the healing process then go for it...that can actually be apart of the healing process for some people- remember nurses we must take the holistic approach..and to care for our patients as a whole person not just a diagnosis:hug::thankya:
  15. what happened to the other nurse? was she disciplined? she was also very wrong!! first she came in an hour and a half late then she would not get off of the phone to take report?? are you kidding me?! instead of grabbing the phone i would have went straight to the charge nurse told her the senario and gave her report for the patients stress the fact that i really had to get home and could not wait for her to get off of the phone...and i would have left. during my clinical rotation while in nursing school one of the facilites we visited recorded their end of shift reports and the oncoming nurse would go into a private room play the recording; write down any notes and then delete...that way the nurse waiting to be relieved could just go home once the oncoming nurse came in..so sorry your going through this... Good luck to you!
