SMU (Samuel Merritt University) BSN Spring 2020

Hello everyone!!

I just wanted to start a thread for the Spring 2020 term at SMU because I know applications are due soon (July 1st), feel free to drop your stats and all of that good stuff!

yes haha, there is another one for ABSN, no one else from ABSN received the follow up emails!

Quick question I'm not sure if anyone knows but I finished two of the prereqs over the summer and submitted my updated transcripts with NursingCAS in August. Does anyone know if SMU sees those updated transcripts even after our application was submitted by July 1st. It mentioned we can still submit transcripts but I wondered if SMU was updated of the changes. Super random but I think I'm just going stir crazy over here waiting for decisions.

I had my final transcripts in by like August 8th I think and it would only let me update the classes in progress not anything else on the application.

I’m not 100% sure, but I have a math class in progress. I asked if I should update NursingCAS, but she just said she will annotate it in my application packet. I would just send an email to be on the safe side.

They should see them. It won’t be reflected on your NursingCAS application, but I did the same thing and submitted the updated transcripts to NursingCAS. I called them to see why it had t updated and they told me not to worry, that the school will get them and since they also calculate the GPA their own way, they should calculate the new transcripts into your GPA for consideration. Let’s hope that’s actually what happens! The admissions counselor at the school confirmed that transcripts sent after summer session DO make it to SMU for consideration if they are sent in Early to mid August. I can’t imagine why late August wouldn’t also make it? I hope that helps ease your mind!

i applied for the ABSN program in Sac but I also monitor this thread and the ELMSN thread because they help us gauge when we might find out if we got in or not. So the ELMSN FNP thread had two people (at least) who were accepted. I know last year the ABSN applicants were very soon after that. So hang on, we are almost there! Good luck guys!

Edit: to clarify, your entry that your class is completed and your updated grade WILL show on your application. Your GPA will not be updated by NursingCAS and they will not verify until next application cycle. (Hopefully there isn’t a need for another cycle!)

yeah then they saw it, you submitted it in time! The deadline was aug 21
