Slow times at hospitals?

Published

A question...I have been reading these forums for a long time..My husband and I have moved from CA to FL and back to CA...We really don't like Southern CA...so much has changed and we are hoping to move to the Phoenix area...last move I ever hope to make. My question is one that I haven't seen discussed much here...maybe because you already live there and know the answer...do you have slow times where you are sent home during the year? I know in FL...we were busy during snowbird season, then, very slow. (I am a RN and work in surgery).

We have been spending holidays and long weekends in AZ for a couple of years now and still really like it.

Any assistance would be appreciated from this great group of nurses!!!!!!!!!

Thanks

We had a meeting today at work on this topic. Hospital admissions are down more than usual for the summer time. Less traffic, fewer auto accidents? Less construction, less work accidents? More unemployed/layoffs, fewer covered by insurance? More debit, less elective surgeries?

Summer is always slower as are holidays. I guess it just depends on where you are

That makes sense.

I work on a tele floor and to be truthful it is not as slow as it was last year. I dont think as many snow birds have flown away this summer.
