Senior RN Student w/ Jealous Husband!!!
This could be my life-for the most part. I had to work full time,go to school full time, and raise 2 kids(as well as cook, etc). The whole time he would hit me, verbally abuse me-just whatever he felt like. I finished my LVN first only to find that jobs were scarce. I found a bridge program and took that. RN at last! After 21 years of hell, I was able to stand on my own.The hospital I worked at had a battered womens program. They helped me get a restraining order and found an attorney to help get the divorce started. 10 years later-the scars are healing. You can do this! I will pray for you and am so sorry that you are going through this. God bless you.

Slow times at hospitals?
A question...I have been reading these forums for a long time..My husband and I have moved from CA to FL and back to CA...We really don't like Southern CA...so much has changed and we are hoping to move to the Phoenix area...last move I ever hope to make. My question is one that I haven't seen discussed much here...maybe because you already live there and know the answer...do you have slow times where you are sent home during the year? I know in FL...we were busy during snowbird season, then, very slow. (I am a RN and work in surgery). We have been spending holidays and long weekends in AZ for a couple of years now and still really like it. Any assistance would be appreciated from this great group of nurses!!!!!!!!! Thanks Bev:confused:

Domestic Violence Survivor.
You can do this...I was married at 17...the abuse:physical,mental,etc...started one week later. I had 2 children (they were never harmed) and at 33 decided enough. I went to school full time days and worked a full time job as well as took care of the house and kids. After school and boards, I trained in the OR and started looking in CA for a new life. It was very difficult...the police met me at the airport because of a death threat from my husband. Anyway, long story short, I managed to get out alive. Please don't give up....please. I will keep you in my thoughts and feel free to PM me for encouragement. God Bless

Information on the best hospitals to work at in Los Angeles
My husband and I moved to Florida 4 years ago from CA. We lived in Riverside. He is transfering to Redondo Beach and will also be going to school in Van Nuys. We decided living and me being employed in Los Angeles would be the best way to go. He will have to be working part time...so, the bulk of our living expenses will be up to me to provide. My question:can anyone give my information on Los Angeles hospitals, even rate of pay would be nice, but, not necessary. I know you get threads like this...I have been reading for a couple of years. I just never really paid attention the the LA ones...since I was in Fl with no hope in sight of going "home". Thank you so much for reading this and please, please help. This will all be happening so fast for me. I will be left in FL to pack up our home and sell it as well as going to school myself and working full time. I am nervous about the whole thing, but, having info in hand would be a life saver. I am a RN that works in surgery. I have done Level 1 trauma,Level 2 trauma.Level 3, and outpatient surgery. Have been a nurse for 11 years. Thank you sooooooooooooo much.

Wearing scrubs in public...
I have worked in many other states, but, Florida is the only one so far that I have had to purchase my own scrubs to work in...and, I don't even get to choose the color as they tell you what to wear. You launder them yourself, and, heaven forbid you get anything on you and must wear "borrowed scrubs"...So, the OR is not special either..at least not here.
