Hey guys,

My "full time" job is teaching, but during Christmas break, I work 3 night 12 hr shifts a week!! Doing that has me on a night shift sleep cycle....Even on my days off, I will sleep all day and be up all night.....Right now in St Louis the time is 0050---and I am wide awake.....at 8pm I took 2 benadryls to help me sleep!!

Is anybody else up all night.....what do you to fill the time??:typing

What forum??

allnursing.com and a few others *shrugs*.. occasionally a show on tv can put you to sleep. Try sleep foods? There has been a couple of times I stayed up all night, gave up drank coffee and fell right to sleep also! :yeah:

I just bought some melatonin today. I haven't tried it yet, since it's already getting late. Tomorrow.

It didn't work for me, hope it does for you.

Me too! Just in case, I didn't spend a whole lot.

I work straight nights. I work tonight at 7pm so of course I am awake and this is normal for me. Yesterday I slept until 2pm and I was up until 4am yesterday morning. I'm use to it. I've I'm gonna be off for more than 3 days then I switch to a day time schedule and sleep during the night.

Anyhow, I'm watching as many episodes of the Golden Girls as I can. And reading the forum and reading ICUfaq.org.

Haha! Okay, I'll admit to watching GG too! Last night it was I Love Lucy, and right now it's Dances With Wolves, which I've seen a few times, but there isn't anything else on!!!!!

I watched Dances with Wolves earlier. The only thing I hate about being up is when I get so bored I want to eat. I'm eating Special K with sliced banana and drinking some juice.

Me too! You're doing good, though. The other night I had sausage and feta cheese. Not too healthy. On a healthier note, Trader Joe's frozen mango chunks nuked for about fifteen seconds, just enough to soften them for eating, are really yummy!

I have one of those near me. Never been there though. Mango sounds yummy.
