I kind of hit a wall at that point too. It seems like it takes you forever to even be able to apply for a program. Just try studying for a few min frequently. And make sure you have some time that you set aside to do fun things that don't involve school. If you have some planned down time, you will be less stressed and do better when it's time to study. I went through a patch where I was really getting burned out on school, but you will make it through it. I have finally finished all my pre recs and turned in my nursing applications today! You will make it through!
thank you

Me too. But I've been here before enough times to figure out how to deal with it.
You don't have to be in a study mode to study. It might not be quite as effective but getting half as much done as I think I would if I were in a study mode is better than getting nothing done. And, suprisingly, I sometimes get as much done when I'm not in a study mode as when I am in one.... it just doesn't feel like it when I'm doing it.
This is where the benefits of all the routines you were doing last fall (regular place to study, regular time to study, ect) regular study habits kick in. When you are hitting the wall, the solid study habits can pull a study mode out of you.
And if all else fails, when it looks like a mountain, I force myself to not look at the whole thing. I look at just the next step. Sometimes, I set the timer for ten minuets (I can almost always put just ten minuets into something).
Oh, and the other thing that almost always works, is vigorous excercise. Just enough to get the muscles loosened and the heart rate up is enough.
Sigh, now I just have to go do those things.

I hear you. Make a deal with yourself...1/2 hour of studying = 1/2 hour of book/computer time/whatever. Give yourself constant encouragement, and eventually you will hopefully get into the routine and mindset again.

1. Put your trust in God
2. Study in short bursts. study for a few minutes and then take breaks in between. You remember the first and last things you study, so if you study in short bursts, you'll retain more vs trying to study it all at once and dont remember a huge chunk of material.
3. You can go to tutoring for help if you dont understand the material, schools usually offer this for free. Trust me, it helps
4. You can bring a tape recorder to class and record the lectures
5. Study it till you feel you could teach it to another person. For some of these materials I have to write them down 10 times, yeah its tedious, but oh well, at least I can say I remember it after doing that. LOL!
6. Go to your teacher and see if you can both go over the materials before the test or go over your past tests to see WHY you got the answers wrong. You need to know WHY things function.

Did you 'bomb' it or really bomb it? I feel the same way as you do.. I had my first A/P 2 lecture exam last week and compared too all of my A/P 1 lecture exams, I did pretty bad. (a B but not a convincing one) I had so much trouble getting 'into' the material. It was bland.. ducts and lining and blah blah blah. I spent a lot of time studying.. and it's not that I didn't understand it.. I don't know what is wrong with me. I'm not not engaged in this class like the first part.
Thursday is the lab practical on the cat muscles and I'm sweating it because I need to get As pretty much from here on out if I want to get an A in this class.. Ug..
Anyway- I just wanted to say- I feel your pain.
Back to studying dead cats...

Well guess what I am doing at this very moment....SLACKING! Like someone said earlier I take frequent breaks and try not to let myself stress out. It's helped so far. 15 minute breaks with 30 minutes of studying. Well back to the books (And if anyone cares, I am studying for my first Exam in Anatomy and Physiology I--Oh what fun:eek:)

I know how you feel lol. I got a B on my first anatomy exam. I was shocked because I KNOW the material. Its not hard stuff, but I freeze at test taking time.. I just learned from my mistakes and ended up getting an A in 6-week anatomy(you try learning 120+ muscles, and the integument, digestive, urinary, and both reproductive tracts in 6 days. ITS EXHAUSTING.
Now I am taking micro and physio together in 16 weeks.
I tell myself If I can make an A in 6-week anatomy then I can get an A in both micro and physio in 16 weeks! RIght? LOL
