Sites for ordering uniforms

Published

Hello Everyone, I just commissioned into the Army Reserves Medical Corps as a nurse and wanted to order my uniforms ahead of time so that I am prepared but am having a hard time finding uniforms to fit. I order a uniform from the AAFES web site and ordered smalls but still they are to big. Has anyone had to order uniforms in female small sizes ? Any good web sites for ordering will be appreciated. No there is no base near by as I live in Charleston,West Virginia. So ordering online is my best option. Thanks

Wok,

That is a good suggestion. I would like to see the items that I need first so that I am comfortable with purchasing them there. It does makes sense though, especially since our uniforms are supposed to be $6000 total (or so my recruiter told me), and we only have the $600 clothing allowance.

Thanks Cindy,

I will see you there

Lori

I recently saw a XS short, if that helps.

Cindy, what list are you looking at?

The uniforms at 6k? Something is wrong there.

An ACU set is roughly 110...

For the poster about the uniform...they last forever... only purchase your school requirements..no more!~ lol. You will get more issued if you deployed...

I only wore 4 pairs of ACUs during my recent 15month deployment....

I recommend being 'conservative' on purchases...unless a school house dictates a bunch ;) ....

that being said you surely want to purchase an extra pT belt and fleece cap - if you live in a cold area and keep that in the car...someone always forgets it at PT

Howdy,

I am not sure were the 6K came from. Maybe GnPD,.... is that including dress blues? I just bought 3-4 pairs and it cost maybe $600, with all the fixings. I did invest in some Danner boots--which adds another 120.00

cindy :)

It came from me. That is what my recruiter told three of us. She told us not to purchase everything that is required because she took someone there a few weeks earlier and it cost 6K. By everything, I am not sure if she was talking about BDUs, dress blues, etc...or the amount of each. The letter that we got instructing us to wait on purchasing our dress blues stated that it was around $1,000 so I really am not sure what she was referring to. There are sites where you can get the dress blue, including garment bag, for around $700.
