Since when do nursing assistants give enemas?

Published

I am doing questions for the NCLEX on Jan. 22nd and this was a question in the Saunders review book.

Sounded kinda crazy to me, I have certainly never seen that nor can I imagine that happening.

Any insight?

When I started out as a CNA, we were allowed to give enemas. Now (in Indiana), CNAs are not allowed to give enemas or suppositories. While CNAs are not allowed to give enemas or suppositories, UAPs are.

Bonny,

What edition NCLEX book is that you are using? Thanks.

Just to point out that this thread is 2 years old and there has been a couple of new editions released. When studying for NCLEX I would always recommend using current editions as they should cover the various format questions that are on the exam.

Saunders Comprehensive Review is now in its fifth edition.
