should i simultaneously apply for ces to cgfns and eligibility to vermont?

Published

hi im new here and this is my first post :) ... i have read the application packet from vermont bon and the ces handbook from cgfns however i want to ask some advice on which step to do first. should i simultaneously apply for ces and eligibility? or should i apply for eligibility to vermont only after cgfns has finished the ces report? approximately how long does the vermont-specific-ces report will take? thanks! :)

You could do both together however your application will not be processed until CES is received. CES takes approx 4 months but will vary depending on how timely your docs are sent to CGFNS

thanks silverdragon! i might just do the ces first then perhaps after a month ill do the application to vermont! :)

i have placed my order in the online service of cgfns but havent completed yet because im not sure with the education part. i actually studied in 3 schools with different courses. First I took BS Occupational Therapy but for a year only. Then I shifted to BS Computer Science and transferred to another school where I graduated. (Well, the units/subjects I took from my BSOT course were not credited when I shifted to BSCS. (So, basically I was back to zero)....Few years later, I took BSN (as my second course) in another school...But this time when they evaluated my credentials they credited some subjects from my BSOT since it's also healthcare related course.

Now, pls correct me if im wrong...I placed BSCS under Post-Secondary Non-Professional and BSN under Professional. Is that right? Im also just wondering if I should still add BSOT under the Professional? My TOR in my BSN school has integrated my records from the 2 other schools, so Im thinking of not adding BSOT.

There is also a part wherein you select the credentials you wish to have evaluated and included in the report.

  • Evaluation of transcripts from two (2) professional schools
  • Evaluation of two (2) registrations/licenses not issued in the US

The 2 professional schools shown are my BSN school and my highschool. Is the highschool automatically the 2nd professional school if you have only one professional school? But probably if I add BSOT under professional, my BSOT school would appear instead of my highschool. Im just worried that if I add BSOT they would require me to request another TOR from the school which would add to my expenses. :crying2: On my opinion, only 1 TOR would be enough to be evaluated, since my BSN school has integrated my records from my 2 other schools.

Please enlighten me  Thank you very much!

i passed the nclex in california but could not obtain an SSN (i'm here in manila and could not find an employer in california) i have until december 2011 to provide my SSN to the Board of Nursing to be issued my permanent RN license. however,i have decided to apply for endorsement to vermont since an SSN is not required there.(due to time constraints)

i would like to ask about the CES-CGFNS. i want to apply on-line but i'm not sure what to choose. should i request for a re-evaluation($195) or an additional CES report ($60) only? a vermont-specific CES report is required.

thank you.:uhoh3:

Know the needed or required CGFNS-CES report that Vermont is asking. Either full education course by course or healthcare-profession and science report. If you haven't been issued a CGFNS-CES report before then don't get the re-evaluation. You don't need additional report recipient ($60) during your first time application because you have two (2) free recipients in your initial application. You are required to place at least one recipient of the report in your application. Why not just put two recipients, just in-case Vermont is not your destined state.

Take some time to read the CGFNS-CES packet as well as the Vermont Licensure Packet, the answers are all in there. Good luck.

hi PXIEGXIE. i am also new here. we have the same problem. my first course is economics (which i didn't finish) then i shifted to nursing. and my nursing school credited some of my subjects from my Economics program (basically GE subjects).

now, i am kinda lost if i'll place my Economics program under the Post-Secondary Non-Professional or under the Professional Category. like in your case, my nursing school also included in my TOR all my previous subjects from my Economics program.

i really need your help. my CA nclex will expire this october...so i need to act fast.:confused::confused:

hi PXIEGXIE and cookiekins, I am a second courser and we all have the same problem. my cali pass letter will expire this july, so as an assurance i might as well endorse it to vermont but the online application makes me confuse as to what to choose regarding the credentials to be evaluated. i hope somebody will help us and shed some light.

hi cookiekins, were you able to endorse your Cali Pass Letter to Vermont? thanks
