Simulation lab?

Published

I start my first assignment tomorrow at Banner Good Samaritan in Phoenix. I've got my schedule for the first THREE weeks, and it's all orientation, computer training, much of it in other Banner facilities in the area. They have me scheduled for two FULL days of "simulation center, wear scrubs please." Anybody have idea what that's about? Has anyone been to the Banner simulation center in Phoenix?

Is this a travel assignment? I'm surprised you get 3 weeks of orientation. Sorry, I'm not familiar with that hospital.

Yes, it is, and I'm surprised too.

Maybe someone in HR made a mistake and thinks you are a new hire employee! Anywhoo, just go with it...it'll be easy money for those weeks.

Did you find out yet what it is?

i tried to pM you but it says your box is full. dont sweat the simulation. its more educational purposes they go over ivs, trach care, etc. then they have a simulation where a patient is in distress and your group tries to work together to solve it, just like you would on the floor. its pretty cool

3 weeks orientation? I've thought about trying Phoenix, give us an update.

Actually two weeks orientation, the day at the Sim lab is in the third week for me since "it was full" before that. And they changed it from two days to one, they said the two days was for "new nurses", not experienced travelers.

So far Phoenix is nice, and my first impression of Banner is a good one.
