It's been reported in the NCLEX forum that the creator of simple nursing videos is not a nurse but a former nursing student and the videos have many simple errors (that are subsequently corrected in later videos but are suspect as a fully licensed, educated nurse should/would not make such errors). Do your research before paying $$.

I used Michael Linares videos as extra help while I attended nursing school. I was fully aware that he was not an RN, but after the nursing faculty at my school reviewed some of his videos, they said most were pretty good, and he is an RN now. There were numerous times my nursing instructors made mistakes while teaching and would have to come back the next class and correct what they said. I graduated in June, and failed the NCLEX on my first attempt, my report stated I pass 5 areas and close to passing on two others, so I must retake it. I used Kaplan the first time and did not find it helpful. I purchased ext learning from NCSBN and also NCLEX75. The videos help fill in the gaps and make understanding content easier. However, the questions in ext learning form NCSBN I think are harder and are better for what graduates need to prepare for the NCLEX. I know this thread was started a few months ago, but just continuing to study content, answering questions and reading rationals will help.

There is another thread where he was looked up and confirmed to be a nurse.
