Has anyone utilized simplenursing.com?? I am contemplating subscribing but want to make sure it isn't a hoax since you could access some of the videos via youtube.

Good day, cafegurl
It is not a hoax. Many people benefit from the videos without singing up; but I understand there's more videos available when you sign up as well as PDF files and other things. There was a recent discussion on this board at https://allnurses.com/general-nursing-student/any-luck-michael-939086.html. There is a relatively active Facebook group called "Simple Nursing for Nursing Students" where you can read the success stories of other students as well as help one another (whether you are a member of Simple Nursing or not). I've gotten a reasonable amount of help from the Facebook group even though I'm not a member. I'm planning to sign up in November as my clinicals start in January.
Thank you.

Buyer beware....I have some of the videos with inaccuracies...not a lot but they are there. Also keep in mind he failed nursing school.

Ok...I had to double take on your post? He failed NS?
Good day MrsComboCurlz:
Not sure whether he failed or not as he states he works in the ER in a hospital; granted, I don't know the position. Even so, some people are great at teaching /tutoring / mentoring. As I share what I'm about to share, please know I do hope to be a nursing educator one day... they say if you cannot do, you teach ;-) So I take it with a grain of salt whether or not he passed nursing school since there's incredible testimony that he's good at teaching others. That stated, as Esme correctly pointed out, there are going to be mistakes. Then again, I've had doctorate level professors at college make mistakes. So like with all things, double check for accuracy, see if it applies or not.

This gave me a chuckle cause then I'm thinking 'well maybe if he spent more time studying and less time putting together these lessons...' - but that's just me being a snarky itch with a capital B.
but there is some truth to it, in school you hear all these people talking about how they spent 8 hrs putting together note cards and all that stuff and yet still fail the class. Well they spent more time putting together the material, which may be beneficial, and less time actually studying them.
I admit when I was struggling in med surg, I watched some of his videos. I thought they were helpful to some degree. I didn't rely on them though. I stuck with my class notes, did my NCLEX questions, did my reading, and was able to pass.

Whether or not he failed nursing school is immaterial.
People are bounced from nursing programs for all kinds of reasons that have little to do with their knowledge of the material.
Any words of advice to pass Med Surg.?

Get the Saunders NCLEX RN study guide - it will help you out in school to focus in on and understand during school and while you study afterwards for NCLEX.
This book is a great resource. Love it!

I can not believe some of the comments that are being made about Simple Nursing.Com website, it is completely laughable. I am not a admin on his site nor am I being coached to say what I am about to share. If anyone feel his site is not that great, than guess what? You, can not create a youtube channel and your website fill it with the "ac curacies," you see fit.
If he did or did not fail Nursing school so what!! What does that have to do with the price of tea in china? LMFAOOOOO, are we serious? How many people in this forum had bribed his/her way through nursing school? How many people in here were academic leeches in the Nursing program to graduate? It is not were you from it is were you are at.
