Just sent in my applications for Simmons College, Northeastern, and MGH direct-entry nursing programs! I was wondering if anyone who is currently a student, also applying, or a graduate has any insight to offer.
A little about me:
I have a 3.77 overall GPA. I still have the prerequisites A&P I & II and Life Span development courses to complete, and have A's in my completed pre-requisites. I am on an emergency squad where I take patient vitals and assist in patient care. I volunteered at a hospital and shadowed a Physician Assistant. I am a Teaching Assistant at my college for Biology and Microbiology. My GRE scores are about average: 152 verbal , 151 quantitative, and 4 on writing. I live in and am from New York, and love the Boston area. I've applied to only Boston schools!
No alert for me either. Disappointing. If it in fact means you were accepted emmawdhous, such a crummy way for the rest of us to learn we were not accepted. lol
Yes, by email. I want to be clear I've heard NOTHING about acceptance; the application still says 'file under review for completion.' It was a Simmons Alert email about the snow closing. Maybe I signed up for notifications somewhere in the process of applying, but I haven't gotten one before tonight.
Seriously, this waiting is the pits. And my micro prereq has been snowed out at MCC. So it looks like I'll be hitting F5 4x/min all day tomorrow. Joy!
I actually have "general" checked on my contact preferences. Maybe I just didn't get the email, or maybe you could be onto something! Either way, still super nervous.
What were your stats like if you dont mind sharing?
Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Umass Amherst in 2010 B.S. double majored in Kinesiology and Sociology. Overall undergrad GPA 3.63 - i think my pre-req GPA is like 3.75. Worked the last 3 years in health care (ophthalmic tech in a safety net hospital setting). GRE 158 verbal; 156 Quant; 4.5 written portion.... anything else ya wanna know? I applied to the Acute Care track. I also live local to Boston so I don't know if that changes anything.

I just got an email from Simmons apologizing for the delay in reviewing DEN candidates (storm-related), and revising its acceptance/rejection notification to end of February. So it looks like another 1-1/2 to 2 weeks for Simmons. Anyone else hear from Northeastern? I've only seen one 2015 candidate on the boards called for an interview so far.
