Has anyone gotten off the waitlist for this program yet?

I did! I originally got put on waitlist back in February and got an acceptance letter two days ago in my email this March. They also gave me a merit scholarship award and told me that I have until April 9th to accept my seat in the cohort. Like you guys, I'm balking at the cost even with the scholarship. I'm also going back and forth between various programs I've been accepted to -- University of Arizona and Vermont -- while still waiting for the ones I was waitlisted in -- Seattle University and Rush University. I'm just confused LOL.

I did look at the reviews and the whole thread but the flexibility of the program is really attractive. In three years, we'll get our RN, MSN, and FNP certification along with more nursing experience (since I read they want us to work while studying). That's great timeline wise since FNP is my dream goal.

Congrats on your acceptance! So you got an acceptance through email, not regular paper mail, correct? Just to clarify!

Yes they emailed me, although I admit that I check my email way more frequently than my mail. When I was waitlisted the first time, I first found out through email then a couple of days later, the letter arrived with a form to sign if I wanted to stay on the waitlist. Based on their past actions, they might send me a packet, too, although I'm not sure. Other universities I've applied to predominantly sent me application updates through email so that's what I check the most. I saw that they attached all the PDFs I needed to sign, anyways ?

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone on this forum decided to attend Simmons. I began the direct entry program last year and I will be taking the NCLEX in the fall when you guys will start. Will anyone here be moving to Boston for school?

I've paid the deposit and will also be moving to Boston. I'm from California.

Hiya, I'm from CA as well and will be moving to Boston for Simmons.  Do you know if anyone is looking for roommates/housemates?

I'm currently in the program right now and I'm about to move for the fall. When you guys begin, it will be my second year and I am actually looking for a roommate.

Maybe I'm alone in this, but I've been reading that direct entry NP programs are not created equal and some are better than others. Can any alumni here dexribe their experience? Did they feel prepared to start working as an FNP, were the classes rigorous, and how were clinicals?

Hello Everyone,

I just stumbled across this thread I was reading a little on the program on the school's website. Just wanted to clarify some confusion I had, is this direct entry program a combined Master's and DNP program? Or is it a ABSN & Master's program?

Hello! This is a direct entry for people who have a bachelor’s degree in a non-nursing field to be a Nurse practitioner in just 3 years! So in the end, you will get a MSN, your RN license, as well as your FNP certification. You’ll get a Masters degree in nursing, not a doctorate degree, but you will be an NP. Right now, it is still possible to be an NP with a Masters. Of course you can get a doctoral degree in nursing later on too.

ah thanks so much for you fast response, that's what I thought. I know that at the conclusion of some combined direct entry programs you are awarded two degrees, so I just wanted to make sure I was reading that correct LOL!

Hello everyone, I have been accepted the program. Is there any sort of group for accepted students?
