  1. Hiya, just want to jump in. When people from my previous cohort spoke to the admin rep (Brett at the time), they told us that Simmons found placements and to not pay attention to what others said. I believed them , and honestly they were full of crap. I've just finished speaking to a student whom their entire cohort had to find their own placements.
  2. COVID has made it worse, but it was a problem beforehand. In actuality, securing NP clinical placements is not an entirely uncommon issue, but with that being said there are definitely programs that completely secure them for you. Schools will not be upfront about this either, so you have to look carefully at the language they use. Talk to previous cohorts, that's how I found out, and unfortunately is confirmed by current experience.
  3. Current student here, part of last year's cohort. Please do Not come here. It is an incredibly unorganized program that doesn't provide NP clinical placements, despite admin swearing they do. You can't trust what they say, and believe me I wish when someone first told me this I believed them and went somewhere else. Save your hard earned work and money for a better program. Recommend Boston College or Northeastern. Trust me, it's worth taking a gap year or two to get in somewhere else.
  4. Out of curiosity, has anyone hear applied to other direcg entry nurse practitioner programs? Other than SMU
  5. Congrats! I just wanna sya to everyone still waiting to hear back, I emailed Anne a couple days ago after the first wave of decisions and she said that, basically, not all of them have been sent out yet! Have hope, there might still be good news coming!
  6. Maybe I'm alone in this, but I've been reading that direct entry NP programs are not created equal and some are better than others. Can any alumni here dexribe their experience? Did they feel prepared to start working as an FNP, were the classes rigorous, and how were clinicals?
  7. Congrats on your acceptance! So you got an acceptance through email, not regular paper mail, correct? Just to clarify!
  8. Oof I did mine and feel at best ambivalent about it. I'd say have a list good qualities you bring to the table.
