Simmons Direct Entry 2020

Published

Hey guys! Just thought we would keep each other updated on our application process! I recieved an email this morning saying my application is under review (i applied nov 15) and was wondering what everyone else has heard! Best of luck to everyone!

I got my acceptance at well!

When did you guys submit your applications? I submitted mine in September, but I didn't receive my confirmation email from Simmons that they processed it until 1/10/20 and I haven't heard anything yet, so I'm probably the next round to hear a decision.

Congrats everyone! I just received my acceptance as well.

Same. I submitted my application early like September or even earlier and I didn't receive the email that Simmons processed my application till 1/11/20. I'm still waiting to hear back and very anxious.

I submitted mine in early December and got confirmation the first week of January

Hello! I received an email yesterday indicating that I've been placed on the wait list. Anyone know how the Simmons wait list works? In other words, are we ranked or do they re-review everyone on the wait list should a spot open up?

@Meep123 - There are online classes that are required in the NP portion of the program. Informatics and Health Promotion being two of them. I am actually taking both right now (doing things out of order), and I will be able to tell you later in the semester how that is going. So far it is watching weekly videos, readings, discussion posts and papers. Nothing bad.

As I mentioned earlier, patho is offered online during the summer. It uses Zoom, which means you have to log on a certain time each week and have class through video. You can see and hear every person. It truly makes taking an online class so much more enjoyable. If you attend Simmons, I highly recommend taking this class in the summer. You will be much less stressed and more successful in the fall.

When in the summer did patho start for you? I have to take one last pre-req class this summer (early June to end of July) before enrolling and I don't want to overload myself if possible since I work full time.

I believe the course starts the week of May 18 this year. Last year it ended the second week of July. The course met two evening a week through Zoom. It wasn't a lot of work during the summer.

Hey Paige, I think waitlist decisions went out the end of March or beginning of April last year. I don't know if they rank or re-review applications.

Hi everyone! Weird question: Do any of you happen to know the estimated total cost of this program?

I can see the cost per credit is 1,410 but I don't know if that includes lab fees or any other extraneous costs. I'm also unsure of how many credits are required of us in total--the number of classes listed in the 'sample' schedule versus the number of classes listed under 'required curriculum' were quite different. Just trying to gauge since I would also be moving cross-country.

Thank you much in advance!
