Of course! Have you heard anything from them?

No, I recently got a link to check my application status but that was all!

Current student here, part of last year's cohort. Please do Not come here. It is an incredibly unorganized program that doesn't provide NP clinical placements, despite admin swearing they do. You can't trust what they say, and believe me I wish when someone first told me this I believed them and went somewhere else. Save your hard earned work and money for a better program. Recommend Boston College or Northeastern. Trust me, it's worth taking a gap year or two to get in somewhere else.

Hey, I applied here as my second choice. Do you think it's because of COVID that you're having such a bad experience? I couldn't find a lot of information about the school compared to others. I would love to here more and some pro's as well if there are any LOL.

COVID has made it worse, but it was a problem beforehand.  In actuality, securing NP clinical placements is not an entirely uncommon issue, but with that being said there are definitely programs that completely secure them for you.  Schools will not be upfront about this either, so you have to look carefully at the language they use.  Talk to previous cohorts, that's how I found out, and unfortunately is confirmed by current experience.

Yes, I also heard poor things about this program. You don’t get a BSN with this program, so you do not become an RN first. Therefore, you have no experience as an RN before becoming an NP. Many employers look for a BSN and RN experience. I was interested in Simmons, but once I found out about this, I have really taken them off my list.

Yes exactly! I applied, but I’m not interested in attending Simmons because of the same reason. That doesn’t seem right.

Hello, I spoke to an admissions person and just wanted to clarify. They don't give a BSN but you do get your RN license after taking the NCLEX. They also do require students to work as nurses so they will have nursing experience by the time they graduate and you get the option to do the masters part time or full time depending on how much you want to work.

Thank you for clarifying! Did they mention anything about finding placement? That seems to be another issue.

Hiya, just want to jump in.  When people from my previous cohort spoke to the admin rep (Brett at the time), they told us that Simmons found placements and to not pay attention to what others said. I believed them , and honestly they were full of crap. I've just finished speaking to a student whom their entire cohort had to find their own placements.
