Silly question about white scrub pants

I was just like you when I started nursing school. I tried a bunch of things like getting pants liners, etc. In the end you see so many variations of white in the hospital that you get kinda desensitized to it all and just wear them. We found that white cotton modest undies were the best, hoped for long scrub tops and dreaded the female curse. Sorry this is not more helpful but whites must have been designed by a male - nough said.

Get a long scrub top! I hate white pants!!!!!!! Some companies make some that are less see through, try doing a search on the boards for white pants that are less see through!

With PCOS and crazy cycles I ended up with more clinical days bleeding than not. And the white pants made it very stressful! The best advice I can give is to learn to use tampons unless there is a medical reason not to. I know TMI but I used a super plus tampon AND a thin overnight pad. That way if I got stuck in a patient room or something I had extra backup until I could get to the bathroom. GL!

You can find some that are better then others, I wore a cotton type verses a cotton blend. It was less see through. I also wore women's tight boxers as an undergarment with pants that are slightly looser then what I would normally wear you couldn't see a thing.

I think we are all self conscious about those things, even now wearing a pink or really any color scrub pant and "that time" is always stressful. Scrubs are very thin and if you do happen to have a problem everyone will understand.

I agree with SCNURSE2010, wear a tampon and thin pad if possible. If not possible I would just make sure your aware that time of the month. Men must have invented the white pant rule. Trust me though a week into the clinicals you won't even be thinking about it. Your going to be so busy with other stuff your gonna forget or at least not think of it as much.

How about some white incontinence briefs? Some of them look very panty-like, they're quiet, and if anything leaks, it won't end up on your pants.

Have you ever looked into menstrual cups? They are SO much better than tampons. Walgreens carries one called "Instead" Instead of absorbing the blood- it's a cup that catches it. You only change them half as often as a tampon- and they don't hurt to come out if your flow is light- so you can wear them even when spotting. I always wear it with a panty liner when wearing light pants- but I've only had one leak 1 time- and it wasn't inserted properly. I could never wear a tampon again.

Have you spoken to your school dean about this? I suspect you are not the only one worried about the white pants. Many, many nursing schools avoid white pants so there is really no need to torture the students at your school!

If you have to wear white pants, chef's pants are made of thicker material, and they're not see-through.

I am a Diva Cup wearer! That is the best product ever invented for period control!! When I used to wear tampons, I would leak no matter what I did. Now, that I wear the Diva Cup I don't even have to wear a pantyliner if I don't want to. I have overflowed the cup a couple times over the last 3 years but those were mostly at night time.

To answer the OP, I have seen some white scrub pants that advertise as not being see thru. I would search for those!

I was soooo hoping someone said this. Use diva cup and will never never never use tampons or pads again. Insteads are a one size fits all so are prone to leaking if they dont fit you right.....which they dont fit me right.

But as to the white scrubs.......I also will be starting nursing school and have white scrubs. I got 3/4 length slimming leggings to wear underneath them.
