Sigma Theta Tau--worth it?

Nurses General Nursing

Hey everyone,

I recently received an invitation to join this honor society, but it is 90 bucks.:twocents: That's a lot of money for me as a college student on a frugal budget.

Is this something worth spending my money on? Or should I just save my money as I am graduating in August and will need all the extra cash I can get.

Tell me why you think I should or should not do this.

Thanks everyone,

Nicole:typing:heartbeat

I just completed my application for induction like an hour ago; it's gonna cost me $145 for the induction ceremony

I agree with Healthy RN, it shows a commitment to nursing and access to networking. I would join for one year if you don't like it don't renew.

Specializes in Trauma, Teaching.

My invitation to join said it is a life time membership, any year you choose not to pay dues you are simply an inactive member, don't get the mailings etc.

I put off joining for a while, but just joined this year. Will graduate MSN next year, figured it would look good if I choose to change careers.
