Sierra college nursing fall 2014

Published

Hello to all future and present nurses,

I couldn't find a thread on Sierra College ADN for fall 2014, so I decided to start one. Sierra was my first college I went to, great experience, great people. I really want to get into this school, in fact, Sierra is my #1 out of 7 schools I applied. Has anyone heard anything from them? It says on website it is going to take 6 weeks for them to process all applications, but it seems so long. Anyone here who applied at Sierra for nursing?

Someone from another thread posted she heard from them in the beginning of this month. I am not putting any hope into getting in since they don't notify you unless you are offered a spot.

Hi luffle,

Thanks for a quick response.

That's awesome that someone already got in! I didn't expect to hear from them until mid or end of May. Do u know if she was notified by email or mail? Is there a chance u can send me a link to that thread? I would really appreciate it. Thx!

A friend of mine got accepted into the ADN program for this fall at Sierra College. She found out about a week ago or so.

Thanks for ur response!

I guess my chances of getting in just got smaller...

I was notified about my acceptance at the end of april. right now i'm debating between san joaquin delta college and sierra. let me know if anyone else gets accepted.

Hi yerlo09,

Congrats on getting accepted! Which school are u leaning towards to? Did Sierra tell u the date for mandatory orientation? Also, do u know how many people applied? Sorry for so many questions, just craving for some info, cuz Sierra doesn't post who got in or no.

Thanks! I'm leaning more towards Sierra at this point. Sierra was initially my first choice as well due to the reason that CSU Sacramento is teaming with them in giving this upcoming nursing students the opportunity to work on their bsn at the same time while working on their adn. Assuming that I read the information correctly, the adn bridge to bsn program is based on lottery so only a handful of nursing students will be given the opportunity to work on their bsn. Instead of the traditional adn to bsn and taking an additional 1 1/2 years to complete one's bsn, it'll only taking sierra's nursing students (if selected) one semester after completing their adn as they'll be taking sac state's nursing courses over the summer and concurrently during the 4th semester with adn courses. Yes, when they sent me my acceptance letter through the email that I listed on my application, I was given the mandatory orientation and a deadline to accept or decline my spot. The orientation is on Monday June 9 from 8 am to 4 pm. And then the deadline to accept or decline just passed on May 9. I don't know how many applied as they didn't provide any info. Aside from that one email, they just said they'll email me other requirements that I have to complete before the orientation soon.

Thanks for ur response! Sierra is a good school. Congrats again!

Good luck to you too mishenka18! I also applied to 6 other colleges offering the adn program and got into 2 so don't lose hope! ;)

Thx for cheering me up. I didn't, and I got into school I wanted to get in - Ohlone College. :-) So don't lose hope works for me!

for those of you who got in do you have any new information on the merger program? The information online is very vague and I would like more info on what prereqs are needed. Do you need to meet all the transfer requirements to participate.
