shut off at 75th question pass or fail (nclex rn)

Anybody here who passed at 75 having easy questions? I know they're at easy level coz they're just actually testing your content and memory. I dont think I got them all right esp on SATA. I cant believe I did so bad that it had to shut off at 75.. =( i dont know what to do now. This is my 2nd time. I still dont know the result. Just took it yesterday. I cant sleep and I feel so depressed right now...

I braved the PVT a while ago. I used a deactivated credit card. I thought it wouldnt work but it led me to click submit order page and I just cant believe I had a "good pop" just like everyone else. .Is it reliable??

When you got to the page where you were to enter your CC#, did you actually press submit? And then confirm that submission with a second 'enter'? The "good pop up" people are so hyper-focused on is a screen that tells you that you have an open registration and cannot register again at this time-IOW, you actually submit payment information but it doesn't take it. And no, FWIW, it's not terribly reliable anymore.

If you didn't actually submit the info....you didn't do the PVT.

That said....I'd REALLY recommend you not do it. You can get Quick Results shortly; pay the eight bucks and be done with it, no guesswork involved.

Thanks for all the concern.. I know its not reliable. But in my own opinion the relief I felt using the PVT after 24 hours outweighs all the risk. I dont regret doing the PVT since i used deactivated card. It made me feel a bit relaxed for the remaining hours while waiting for the quick result. Im just so happy that I passed the exam! Confirmed it today at 7am.

Actually, no. 75 is the minimum number of questions. If you're doing consistently above or below passing standard, it'll shut off at 75. If you get question 76, it means you're close to the pass/fail line and you weren't clearly passing or failing. In other words, if your exam shuts off at 75, you were either doing very well, or very poorly, and to the point of not needing further testing. If you go beyond 75, your pass/fail score is too close to call, so it has to keep asking questions until you reach a point where you do satisfy a pass/fail rule. The NCLEX isn't graded traditionally and you will never truly know if you were doing extremely well or poorly or if you were just barely consistently above or below the passing mark to clearly be scored pass/fail. You'll get an idea where your weaknesses are in the performance report if you did fail.

Yes youre absolutely right. You can never can tell if you did good/bad. When my computer shut off at 75 I was confident that I knew most of the topics being asked. I felt I did well. I was really praying that my computer should shut off at 75 since I knew most of the answers. But when I went home I doubted that thought. I realized most of the questions were basic and easy (ex. Asking the correct assessment of abdomen- that's IPPA or IAPP).. They said you have to encounter a lot of above average questions for you to pass. But I think that's not always the case. .Maybe I was just so lucky and blessed. Thank God.. :)

I passed in 75 questions recently. I felt that some of my questions were below the passing line because they seemed to be content/memory. I just kept answering every question to my best ability because that is all you can do. I ended up passing, so don't worry about it until you get your results. It's not over until you get your official pass/fail. Glad you passed!

I just took mine the 13th. It shut off at 75 questions and I passed. Of the 75, I only felt certain of the answer on 20 of them. As someone who passed, I can tell you PVT is not accurate.

If you went to the credit card page, it meant nothing. Everyone goes to the credit card payment page since August 2014.

Congratulations on passing

I know right! I believe I amm just more prepared now than the first time I took it. Its really possible to encounter easier questions and nail the exam :)

You must have entered the correct info on your credit card, did you? I just used deactivated card and entered incorrect data and proceeded to the submit order page. My order did not lead me into the final page, it didnt reject my card so I believed I passed. I know its not accurate but still I did it. Theres nothing to lose anyway if you use a deactivated card. :)

Nevertheless, we passed :) Kudos
