SHSU Spring 2018

Published

Hiii, I saw there wasn't a page for this yet. SO I decided to start one. Anyone submit their app yet? I just got accepted to SHSU and applied to the Woodlands campus. :)

So does that mean only a portion of the acceptances have been sent out? And thanks for calling!

That's great news! That is a change that they've doubled the cohorts from previous semesters to 120 nursing students in Cohort 14 I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. Hoping Monday brings lots of great news!

Don't forget to post if y'all hear something today! :)

You're not going to like me today.... please don't shoot the messenger. I turned some things in and they confirmed that it's only 30 at each campus. It's a total of only 60. 30 per campus. They said they don't have the faculty for this Spring Cohort. However, for Fall 2018 they will have more faculty and they will accept 100 students for the following Cohort and semester. I debated on whether I should pass this on or not but thought I'd rather know than think they took 120 and I wasn't selected, it was very selective and only 30 per campus were selected for this Spring Jan 2018. Please feel free to email for yourself or call them if you have questions.

They could've at least sent out rejections too... how sad

I think they may have more to accept to fill the spots. If people reject their acceptance to go somewhere else maybe they send out more invitations as spots become available. I don't know how that works. I just know they confirmed today that only 30 spots per campus for the traditional BSN. If you're a RN - BSN I think all those are accepted.

Has anyone gotten an email today?

How did they confirm that they only accept 30 in the spring? Or how did you find out, is it online?

No I still haven't heard anything today

Do you have an advisor you've been in contact with? If so I'd email them. You can ask for yourself and get resolve without trusting these online forums. If it were me I'd go straight to the source. They had an info session prior to the application opening. They told us 30 per campus. 60- total. When I saw a post that said things changed I was pleased as I have a friend awaiting to hear too. As I turned in things I asked about the change and was told by an advisor that there are only 30 spots per campus. A total of 60 for this Spring Cohort 14 for traditional BSN. This is how they've done it for semesters before. However, "they are anticipating hiring more faculty for the Fall 2018 and may take 100 students for that Cohort" which is very positive that the program is flourishing. Again, please verify things for yourself. I'm only relaying what was said to me. Don't leave this stuff up to someone else to decide or what you hear on any social media. I encourage you to ask and verify things for yourself. My friend has not heard anything yet either. I'm sorry guys, I know the waiting is torture.

I called again today the lady that I spoke with said the rest of the letters will be out by this week!! So hang tight and try not panic! :)

More acceptance letters? Their whole process is confusing. Like I mentioned it says on the website that you have to accept by tomorrow by 5pm so idk how more letters are being sent this week. Unless its waitlist or denial letters. Maybe they will extend the deadline, not sure.
