I've been in Colorado for 3 assignments now. Wanted to start traveling. I find that here in Colorado, I'm not making much more than back home. Now I realize that I'm not supposed to be making a crazy amount of money. I mean, it's really all about the experience. Right? But....I've been told that Colorado is not the state to make some green. So, I want to hear from the more experienced travelers. Where should I be if I want to make that green?

Florida tends to want to pay in sunshine and they continue to get away with it....I am new to this site and want to travel and have not decided which company or companies have the best overall compensation...I want 2 make more than the $29.00 as an FTE I currently make in Sarasota.....I know I can. I have acls, bsn and recent step down experience... However, I can not put myself out there as an ICU nurse b/c that was 8 years ago...I have floated to med/surg and tele and work with patients that are vented, and are "train wrecks".... anyone know companies that staff Santa FE NM hospitals?

I want to go there and work step down, tele or med surg...any suggestions would be appreciated....thanks :D

As far as Santa Fe, the big hospital there is St. Vincents. They pay for travelers there is not going to be that much higher than you are making as staff. Your company has to pay a fee to the New mexican Hospital Association (Or something like that) for you to work there, so it will cut into your take home. in addition, housing in Santa Fe is very very expensive, again cutting into your take home.

I like Santa Fe, and will probably return there, but if you really want to make more money you'd be better off heading up toward the North East, or California.

I don't know if people consider Oklahoma a southern state or not but in lots of places here travelers are paid pretty well depending, of course, on the company they are with. I think some of the smaller towns here give more money because not many people want to come to Oklahoma. I do promise it's not all tumbleweeds here.

I traveled to a southern Oklahoma, small town, made nearly $50/hr (I didn't take their housing but got the stipend instead). Housing is super cheap in the area.

Anyway, just wanted to throw that in.

Hey where in NH are you working CMC?????
