Hi Everyone!
Brand new school nurse here and I'm probably just a tad bit too excited about it. Plus, I'm home recovering from a tonsillectomy and drugs are good.
The clinic is empty except for a canvas mural, so I'm starting from scratch. I know that decorating the space is the LEAST of my worries once I'm there, but I'm home now with Pinterest and I'd like to get an idea of some cute stuff to do.
Looking forward to learning as much as possible from you all over the coming days, weeks, months...etc. :) Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure what grade level you're in but so I'll cover all of them. Elementary- Pictures of children border from all cultures, bulletin board bright colors to match theme. One area could be girls like flowers and for boys trucks. Or you could go with teddy bears and apples. For Middle School-Posters on Exercise, Nutrition, Anatomy with neutral borders but not too childish. For High School I have a few posters on street Drug and then Letters with careers written on them on the walls and a focus on the school mascot.

I work with MS and HS kids and believe it or not, I added a poster on the menstrual cycle to my office this year. It was much needed and has been a great teaching tool!
I also have a "Effects of Drugs on the Body" poster, concussion poster, allergy poster, two large posters on the muscular and skeletal system, and "Is it a cold or Seasonal Allergy?" run down.
Oh, and we have an art auction here every year as a fundraiser. Kids put their own art from art classes into the auction. I bid on some of my frequent fliers art every year and win a piece or two to hang up. I have four pieces on my office walls currently :).

I'm in Elementary. I have a bulletin board in my room with 10 minions holding signs of ways to stay healthy., I had my kids and nieces and nephews paint on individual canvases a few years ago and those canvases are hanging in my office (I need to have them do some new ones), kids artwork is very fun for my office, makes it less sterile looking. I try to go bright with my colors, the walls are white so I can add a lot and I just do a little each year. make it fun, decorate for holidays/seasons, and anything a child makes for me gets hung up. They love that!
Thanks guys! I started this past monday. I'm working on a "Say Boo To the Flu" bulletin board, and have little foam pumpkins hanging on my desk right now. It's starting to get better, but wow is it sterile. We have the lovely cinder block walls.

I just put up that same bulletin board! "Say BOO to the FLU" with little ghosts saying "get your flu shot" and "wash your hands", that sort of thing. I just started this year too, and my office was very white/plain with decades old posters on the wall. I did some decorating with contact paper, hung curtains, etc all in bright colors. Now I have have halloween stuff all over - I get lots of compliments!
