Should a new grad start in ltc

Published

I have an interview at a ltc center it is part of a large hospital, but still ltc. I am afraid that if I am offered that job and accept. I wil be stuck in ltc. I really don't want to e in ltc at all. But the longer I am without a job the harder it will be for me to find a position.

Most new grads, or others for that matter, take jobs in ltc because they can't get hired elsewhere. It is better than being unemployed. Nothing stops you from continuing your job search and taking another job when it is offered. LTC connected to a hospital probably would afford an opportunity to transfer into one of the hospital departments at some point. Besides, you just might find that you enjoy working with the ltc population. Give it a try. Good luck with your job hunt.

Some of us took jobs in LTC because we found it a rewarding and very useful job.
