Hey everyone! I'm new to this forum so I thought I'd ask advice about whether or not I should take some classes. I'm currently enrolled in an anatomy course at a community college this summer. It's a 7 week course and it is four days a week and approximately 3 1/2 hours long. I'm thinking about taking microbiology as well, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to handle it along with anatomy. The good thing is one of my friends is taking microbiology as well. I'm also considering taking physiology in place of microbiology. The problem is, if I don't take either one, my spring semester classes at my university will be organic chemistry, pathophysiology, and microbiology which is way too hard. Which class would be easier to take with anatomy? Any help? Thanks!
--Sorry I guess I wasn't clear enough. This summer anatomy course is just anatomy because my school splits anatomy and physiology. If I do not take physiology this summer, I will be taking it in the fall next year before I take pathophysiology in the spring next school year.

physiology I would say? My schools have always combined them anyway, as they go hand in hand.

Take the P with the A, but you're looking at a lot of seat time.

Wait I am confused is one course A&P1 or is it just anatomy. Anatomy is pre req for physiology.
If you absolutely had to double up, it would best be with microbiology and physiology. NOT I repeat NOT microbiology and anatomy, because microbiology seems easy and all BUT, once you get to the chemotherapeutics and stuff, you WILL be memorizing on top of memorizing for anatomy.
I, as well as about 10 other people are taking microbiology and physiology right now in a regular semester. My school does not recommend this. But you have to what you have to do. This really tests people, its two pretty decently hard sciences in one semester so you better be really good with science and critical thinking or you'll be working your bum off. Only me and one other girl have high A averages with both class out of the 10 of us taking them together.
DO NOT taking both in a 6/7 week intersession. Unless you want to have absolutely no summer or life and want to risk failing at least one or both classes. DONT.
Your lucky your school even offers all of those in a 6-7 week intersession. My school and its science program won't allow it because its too much information in such little amount of time and you really will be rushed and therefore not learning and studying properly.
Take the a&p combined course if you need to. As for what to take with anatomy, I would pick o-chem, but I am bias since I love chem. Most people do not and therefore do horrible.
Good Luck
Maybe I answered wrong... Are you asking about taking Pathophysiology with A&P ? Is that the physiology that you mean?

I took A&P 2 with Microbiology in a summer session. It was tough but not impossible. I say go for it.. but be prepared to put a lot of study time in.
How can you take pathophysiology without anatomy and physiology before?
What the heck is chemotherapeutics, and since when is that part of a microbiology course?
Got it. i'd say Anatomy and Physiology. That is what I am doing this summer, though mine is one combined course.
Lol. I'm in micro right now and we have to learn all the chemicals that are in antibiotics, antivirals, antiprotozoan, antifungals, and antihelminthes. We need to know what part of the bacteria or fungus or whatever the drug attacks, what the core chemical structure is, the name, and any known diseases it cures or treats. Gosh this exam next week is going to be brutal. It's a lot of info. At least this may come in handy when pharmacology comes.
Geez. I took micro back with my first degree in the pre power point days, lol. We didn't have to do that back then, and I'm pretty sure I wouldn't remember it now if I had.
Sorry I guess I wasn't clear enough. This summer anatomy course is just anatomy because my school splits anatomy and physiology. If I do not take physiology this summer, I will be taking it in the fall next year before I take pathophysiology in the spring next school year.
