Should I Take Micro or A&P II Over the Summer???

I have to decide if I want to take Micro this spring and A&P II this summer. I just finished A&P I with a 98% avg. Should I do it this way or should I take A&P II in the spring and Micro in the summer? HELP!!!!

I would take microbiology in the summer and A&P in the spring.

A combined anatomy and physiology course is bound to have much more material than a microbiology course, and you have the benefit of having A&P I material fresher in your head.

Agreed, take Micro in the summer and let that be your main focus. A & P II has a lot of content, it can be done in the summer, I have known many to do it, and gotten A's, but it's ROUGH. Only take if you MUST. Micro can be done 'easier.' Good luck on your choice and your journey!

to me, it depends on your professor and how the class is.

i took a&p I and II in the summer, and part 2 was way easier than part I. this was cause the professor and his style of tests was a lot easier than part I.

and i'm taking micro right now for fall 2011 semester and it is a lot of information. the information isn't as difficult as a&p but the way my professor makes the tests hard.

i would ask some people who were in the classes previously and get their feedback then decide. cause who knows, you may get stuck with a tough teacher for micro and have to cram the info in during the summer!

good luck :)

I took A & P I and II and my community college.

I took A & P II over five weeks during this past summer. The pace was brutal: 8-1.30 M-W; Th 11-1.30. But then I was finished and had another A.

Microbiology was a doozy and many of the students were having a tough time in the course-even those students who had done well in all of their other classes.

Like the PP said, much of this boils down to the instructor, the exams and teaching style.

Also, how quickly you need these classes completed may factor into your decision.

Good luck

I just finished A&P I and I'm taking A&P II in the spring. My school used to offer the A&Ps in the summer but not anymore. I am wondering if it has something to do with a lower success rate of students in those classes. They still offer microbio in the summer, though. Either way, I'd like to keep the A&Ps close together, so if I was you, I'd definitely take it in the spring and microbio in the summer.

When I have classes that are in sections I tend to try and take one right after the other with no gap in time. If I were you I'd take A&P II as soon as you can after A&P I.

I am taking my final for A&P I tomorrow. Then I'm taking a winter session Micro. In the Spring I'm taking A&P II. Had Micro not been offered during the winter break I would have taken it in the Summer.

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions!!!! I just found out today that my school doesn't offer Micro in the summer anymore, so I guess my question just got answered!! Lol :) I am waiting to hear if I can start the program in the fall. I actually have all the pre-reqs done but I want to get as many co-reqs out of the way before then. Thank again!!!

A&PII in the spring. Micro in the summer. You just finished A&PI, it only makes sense to take A&PII right after it. You'll want to retain the knowledge you learned in A&PI to use in A&PII. Your chances of forgetting material from A&PI are greater if you take A&PII in the summer.
