Should I get the CD's that come with the textbooks?

Published

I'm starting nursing school in the fall and just wanted to know how much everyone benefited from using the cd-rom's that come with the textbooks.

I'm looking online for the best deals on textbooks and am looking to buy some from amazon.. but buying used means most likely not getting the cd. Is it worth it to buy new? I know how good the cd's are differ from textbook to textbook, I'm just trying to get a general idea.

Thanks!

I found that I used the Evolve websites much more than the CDs contained with the texts. In a couple of classes, the materials on Evolve and the CD were identical.

One of the CDs that came with a textbook was incompatible with Mac, so I had trouble using it. I can run Windows 7 on my Mac and had to switch over to the dark side ;) when I needed to watch it.

Yep, that's what I was going to say. :D:D:D

I'm not quite sure how to use the Evolve resources.. are they free or do you have to pay for them?

When I click to use them it adds them to a 'cart'...

Yes it adds them to a cart but they're free.

Thanks so much! Can you use them as much/as long as you want? Or are there a certain amount of days you can have them?

I'm not sure but every book that I've used for Evolve is still listed under my resources.
