Should I drop it for now?

I've been debating with myself all day about this... I'm taking 4 classes right now, Nursing, English 102, A&P 2, and Human Development. It is a HUGE load, and Human Development is probably the worst one of all, I swear the syllabus is like a novel! A few of us went and asked if we could drop it for this semester and take it over the summer. They said yes but we would HAVE to take it over the summer since it's a co-requisite. I know it would make my life so much easier but I also have doubts, like what if there's a problem and I can't take it (which is unlikely)... I guess I'm just worried cause I don't want this one class to mess up my entire program. I'm just wanting others opinions on what you would do I guess. I forgot to mention that in this Human Development class we cover a chapter a day, chapters being 40+ pages each. After every 4 chapters we need to write a paper about a topic we read about. The tests consist of 6-9 chapters, and the instructor informed us that anything in the book, anything she says in class that's not in the book, and anything on any handouts could be on the test. (Most of my instructors say anything they don't cover in class is NOT on the test). We also have a research paper to do, a theorist paper, and a paper on a novel we have to choose and read. All of this plus my english research paper and other little papers, the nursing work, clinicals, and A&P (don't have to explain that one!) I've just been really overwhelmed, I guess the answer should be obvious. I'm just not one to make decisions well. Sorry this was so long! Would YOU choose to drop it for now?

HOLY COW!! That is an intense load. so, you have 9 credits (semester system) on top of your nursing classes? Boy, that's a tough one. I personally would probably drop it and take it over the summer, as long as you were 100% sure that you'd be able to take it. You wouldn't want to throw off your program because of some mishap.

I would take it in the summer too. You're carrying a very large work load, and you want to reserve your energy for the nursing and A&P courses and do well on those. Sound's like that one course you can take in the summer is enough all by itself! Best of luck to you!

I think it's a smart move, especially since they said you could. You don't want one class bringing down your whole GPA because you're so overloaded with work, and can't do the proper amount of studying for the others.

I did that last semester with my math class. I struggle with math, so I only took one other relatively easy class (a PC Applications class required of all degree programs in our school) that I knew would be a breeze for me, so I could really, really concentrate on my math. I ended up getting A's in both, so it worked out well.

I really think it could only benefit you in the long run, and you'll get that much more out of HG&D when you do take it, and same for your other classes.

Thanks for the replies, I did end up dropping it, along with a few other classmates. I'm glad I ended up doing it. :)

drop the English and CLEP it instead.

I would look for comparable classes that I could take online...aske your advisor about it--Community colleges of Colorado is pretty good/hty/
