There is a long time care facility/nursing home down the street from where I live. I am thinking about going to apply there but my CNA is inactive, would like to work so it does not expire. Also, I have been a stay at home mom since my oldest was born and am worried what prospective employers might think of me.
My question is would it hurt to call the hiring nurse manager and tell them my situation and if he/she would even be the slightest interested in hiring me or if I should just go apply and hope for the best?:bowingpur

Never call to apply for a job...always show up if they allow you to do that.
That is why so many ads say "No phone calls"...it gives the impression you want someone to give you a job without leaving the house.
I also wouldn't recommend telling her why you want to work there...it's really not her busines. Focus on your job abilities....that is what will get you hired.

If you can just walk in, do so. Good luck to you!
