Should i call ?

If it is not mentioned during the interview, I always ask when I can expect to hear from them. There is a fine line between being overly aggressive and not aggressive enough, and I definitely don't want to seem like I am badgering them.

If you weren't told when you could expect to hear from them, I definitely think it would be appropriate for you to call HR as it has been 11 days since your interview; something along the lines of "Hi, this is chare and I interviewed for a position on the 27th of April. I am still interested in this position and wanted to inquire about the status of my application and ensure that you don't need any additional information from me."

If you are still being considered for the position I would ask them what the next steps are and when you can expect to hear from them.

Since it appears that HR is the gatekeeper where you interviewed I would make all direct communication through them. If you know the name of the DON and her/his address (and have not previously interviewed with her/him) I would send her/him a letter and resume letting them know that I was interested in the position and already interviewed with HR.

Call, in this job market you can't afford not to. Call and just say that you wanted to follow up because you could really see yourself succeeding there. Let them know you are very interested and would like to speak to someone higher up to check on the progress of your application/interview. Makesure you talk to a hr nurse manager, not the secretary. Good luck, be assertive.

Always call back, HR offices can be real slow or real busy sometimes.. Chare, I may have to disagree with you, lol, One time when I was inquiring about a med-surg position I had to almost badger the Nurse recruiter every day until she knew my name when she picked up the phone and she finally said.. ''ok come in for an interview'', and she apologized for being so behind on getting me an interview. lol, sad to say I then turned the job down.
