Shoes for Men

Published

I bought Nike Shox last night, wore them for like 20-30 min this morning while getting ready for work and boy did my heel begin aching.

Any shoe advice for comfort and men in nursing?

I wear the sketcher shape ups!! Love them!! I dont care about the "toning" they are suppose to do, I just find them extremely comfortable! Feet dont bother me after a 12 hr shift on my tele unit

Thanks, thats great to know.

I went a little earlier to a finish line, champs, and foot locker, but the employees there seem to dismiss my inquiry about comfortable shoes and begin telling me "these are the 2010 model" of whatever they are trying to sell me. So I try them on, but 2010 doesn't equal to comfort, only trendy. So I guess they believe I don't want to spend the money and as a result direct me to the clearance isle.

I've decided to wait and see the feedback I get and go shopping this weekend.

Have you thought about dansko's??? they come in black and brown in the professional style... I know lots of men that wear them :)

What you do is leave the store if they are pushy or ignorant. Either that or just serve yourself, and try on every darn shoe in your size till you find the one pair that does it for ya.

yup, thats what i did. I finally liked the chad johnsons by reebok. Very cushiony (if that's indeed a word). They are the zig zag looking shoes. Alone they weren't the best looking, but they certainly felt comfortable. I actually were them yesterday for my first 12 hour shift (since i have been in orientation) and i was tired, but my feet weren't nearly as tired as when i did my clinicals.

For standing up I recommend avoiding a running shoe. They are designed to make you roll up onto the ball of your foot. Walking shoes or cross trainers tend to keep the weight evenly distributed on your feet.
