Shoes Blues.....

Okay, I've spent hundreds of dollars trying new shoes to get me through three 12 hour shifts in a row. What are your favorites?

I recommend Z-Coil Footwear www.zcoil.com. These shoes are designed to function better than conventional shoes. The coil absorbs 50% impact I have less fatigue now at the end of a 12 hour shift because fo these shoes plus less heel pain. I tried many shoes before I found Z-coil and I'm telling you these shoes work.

I've only seen one post that the person changes shoes each shift- has anyone else tried that? Having 3 pairs they change out each day for the week?

I was doing that - I went between my two pair of new balance before I got my shox broken in. Now I'm not switching. I did have a massive brain fart one day a couple of weeks ago and grabbed my old beat-up, once-white Dansko's for a shift. Hm. It wasn't wise for my comfort, but I'll be darned if I didn't get bled on and peed on that shift so it was a good thing to not have all that yuck seeping into my socks.

I swear by my Nike Shox. :redbeathe:redbeathe:redbeathe them!

I needed a new pair and couldn't find a pair of all white leather ones, so while at the Uniform Shop, I tried a pair of Dankso's (I need the height of the Shox or any shoe/sneaker to keep my scrubs from dragging on the floor). They are a bit tight over the top of my left foot (normal in any shoe, I think that part of my foot on the left is higher than the other. It felt like I might need a half size bigger but when I tried them on, only the length of the shoe changed not the tightness. Being that they are leather I am hoping that they stretch out. I've been wearing them for a few shifts now and I notice they don't seem as constricting as they were.

The Danskos are running a close 2nd to my Shox. I'll have to give it more time to see if I like them better. The one thing that I like more about the Shox is I feel more stable in them. The Danskos have a higher heel and I feel almost like I am teetering in high heels LOL.
